Robotic Arm Redefined
The current market hosts a wide range of robotic arms with various functions, but there currently not one that is simultaneously compact and capable of high-speed actions such as catching a projectile. Projectile-catching robotic arms are usually large to house powerful motors to drive their links; compact robotic arms usually move slowly due to its smaller, less powerful motors. Our project ultimately aims to challenge these physical boundaries to create a life-sized robotic arm capable of catching a ball.
